10 Random Thoughts on Social Networking Sites

I practically live in the internet.  And with that said, you can tell that I am part of multiple social networking sites (that for some people, is a problem).  Here are some random thoughts about these social networking sites I’m in.

  1. I deleted my Friendster account because the layout is way too ugly.  They’re totally left out. Hello?!  Wikipedia’s description made me laugh. “Popular in Southeast Asia. No longer popular in the western world.” LOL.
  2. I hate Multiply’s new layout.  It’s totally pissing me off.  Good thing I haven’t purchased the premium version.
  3. Facebook is the only thing that’s adorable as always.  I’ve got tons of friends over there, lots of activities going on.  Plus the upcoming vanity URL. Lurve it.
  4. LinkedIn, my supposedly professional social networking home is what can I say, boring.  But it’s a good place to connect with pros and people from the industry.
  5. Bebo. Bebo whut?!  I have an account and I barely used it.  I haven’t heard of anyone on Bebo! Haha.
  6. Yahoo! 360. What else can I say.  They closed the freakin’ thing.  Just like what they did to Briefcase and Photos.  I don’t know if you guys ever heard of Yahoo! Mash. Hahaha.
  7. Twitter was fun and great ’til I locked my account.  It’s locked indefinitely.  Right now, it’s boredom galore. Zzzz…
  8. Yup, I don’t have a MySpace account.  I don’t care about MySpace much.  I’ve never thought of joining at all.  Don’t like it.  Period.
  9. I love Flickr and I’m thinking about upgrading to Flickr Pro.  Super easy to use.  Plus, I can incorporate it to my Multiply account.
  10. Last.fm – Haha, I signed up and used it about 2 or 3 times.  I don’t know what else to do with it.  My iPod’s doing it all.

I signed up for a couple other sites plus some forum sites.  Why the heck do I have them anyway?  Believe it or not, the web is a great place to socialize.  This is where I get my blog readers, where I meet friends, mingle with friends IRL (in real life, silly) and where I reconnect with people.  Note people, not necessarily friends.  I just find it so weird for some people who are adding me as “friends” when they never talked or even looked at me!  I mean, it’s cool if we’ve met online but if I had known you like at work or in high school and you never spoke to me (let alone be friends with me), why the heck are you adding me?  Oh well.  That’s just my opinion.  I always have the option to hit Add or Ignore.  What are you doing online?  Hope you’re not just surfing for porn.  Chill. :)

    You weren’t kiddin’ when you said that you tried a lot of Social Networking sites. I’m on Facebook and Twitter and that’s pretty much it. But from the looks of what you wrote, I’ve made the right choices.

    It’s nice and horrible at the same time. The Pros, you get to post the link to your blog or website in high traffic sites. The Cons, it’s tiring to create multiple accounts and then you end up losing the passwords. Then there goes account maintenance. The internet is a bitch sometimes. But I still love it. LOL.

    ewan ko, basta nako-cornikan tlg ako, actually I’ll better call it..naguguluhan.
    sa kbchan ko sa buhay ko, khit maghapon pa ako sa harap ng net, wala akong masyadong maibigay na time para alamin yung mga activities sa facebook.
    I had my account, cancelled it and by checking a friend..it was reactivated again..have to cancel it for the 2nd time..hahaha

    Porn?yeah..once in a while ahem!ahem!(and bilis ng karma)

    I have my account on last.fm too, but Jamendo is the coolest website for me, they have lots of new(and old)artists and different musics to discover.

    Multiply…cancelled!

    Friendster, wala n yung dati..gumawa nlng ako ng bago, but more of veiwing pictures purposes nalang.

    Anyhoo, I think I should check Jamendo out. It sounds like a cool site. Me also, I don’t get to update my blog much. I have so many things to do in my freelance world so I can barely update this one. XD
